I apologize if this has been observed before. So most Pokémon didn't have an official "voice" when the game was in production, that, or there were very limited options (Rattata). They used the sound clips from the anime in the game. That yawn sound clip was used IN Pokémon snap when you threw an apple at Pikachu and you accidentally hit it. Then I noticed this there is a time in the first episode of Indigo League that Pikachu runs up a tree, yawns, and disobeys Ash. But all the Pokémon that are featured in Snap had been shown in the Indigo League season. This is why I believe we couldn't:Īt the time of release (March 21st, 1999 JP) not all 151 Pokémon were even introduced into the anime. When Pokémon Snap came out, not all 151 Pokémon were included and that was a pretty big let down in our childhood. That got me over to Wiki to see when Snap was released for the Nintendo 64. So, I finished marathoning Pokémon: Indigo League on Netflix the other day and noticed that Todd, the photographer from Pokémon Snap, was featured in the anime (Hey, I haven't watched it in a loooooong time).
